Ive been using Cubase SX 2 now for the past few years. It does the job well for me. Some things could be improved a little to help speed things up, but on the whole it is a brilliant piece of software.

I occasionally use Reason as I used to use this before Cubase and Acid can be good for altering the bpm of an acapella or full track.

DJ Solstice

I mainly use Reason 3 and then rewire this into other DAWs such as Live or FL. I had used Reason the most since it's initial release and feel very comfortable with it's sequencer window.

I usually also export midi from Reason into the other sequencers as FL 5 has a great midi editing function and can then import the ammended midi into Reason again.

But I mainly use Reason for layering some nice beats or bass licks. The synths within Reason are very very good if you know what you are trying to achieve and this can be further edited again.

Nonetheless, nowadays, music composition is becoming easier and wasn't as difficult compared to ten years ago. There are so many applications offering what others can't offer. You just need to create your own "sound".

I tell you guys what, I like the sound of that Cakewalk. Yum! Yum!

My program of choice is Ableton Live. It does everything how I want it to be done. It works in the perfect way. Could use less CPU though
