Contests: Wildfire - Johnny

Click here to listen to the Top 3 entries.
1. Wildfire – Johnny (Airwolf Remix)
Well for me this was a treat to listen to. This remix does stand out from the rest, just simply on how complex and full it sounds. The original samples are there, but layered in with some fantastic new bass riffs, guitar hooks and fx. Not forgetting some fantastic drums in there and the use of countless extra vocal samples, nearly all of which fit in nicely. Especially the ‘Where Johnny?’ sample. I like the way the track progresses, changing tone and pace.
Overall, I thought this was an incredibly well produced piece of music.
2. Wildfire – Johnny (Axeast Remix)
The introduction of this remix is probably my favourite of all the remixes. Very atmospheric, and I especially liked the drum & bass snippets from the drums in there. Liked the way the original drumloop from my version has been manipulated and added to, very well done on that. Good use of the original samples is obvious in this as theres bits of them all over the place, chopped up and edited etc.

Overall I felt Axeast did a fantastic Job with this, definitely the remix that is best suited to a film soundtrack I would say.
3. Wildfire – Johnny (Latin Saint Remix)
Loved the overall feel of this remix, especially the great drums and percussion going on, keeping it sounding so busy. The extra vocal samples used sounded good (all but one in my opinion – the one that sounds a bit like a Mickey mouse style thing). I especially liked the break with the film audio in it, works really well, something I thought more people might have had a try at. Love the way it builds back in after that as well.
Overall a great little remix with some excellent attention to detail.
